August Monthly News

Welcome to the August Monthly News! August 2nd was Freda's Voice 12th Blogoversary! I was going to do a post with a giveaway, and changed my mind. No hoopla this year. There's no point with the lack of content I've generated lately. I'm just grateful for those of you who are still here. So, thank you! So it may look like I read a lot, but in actuality, only 3 of those are full-size stories, the others are short stories. Do you consider short stories a book, no matter the size? Or do you not count them in your final tally? I'd like to hear your thoughts. For me, it can often be an introduction into a writer that I may start to read everything they have ever written. My daughter, my youngest child, turned 25 this month! Due to COVID19 and so many restrictions, as well as her living in Toronto, made it hard for me to see her. So needless to say, it's been a hot minute. We went to The Old Spaghetti Factory and walked to the CN Tower. It was a great day! I miss her

Q:  How young do you think children should be when they start reading? A:  As a mom, I read to my children every night. I started as soon as they learned any words. Even if they didn't fully grasp what was being told to them, it became a habit. Now, both of my children as adults have a love of books as well. **This post is part of a weekly book meme.
