December Monthly News

Welcome to the December edition of the monthly news! This month was off to a bang! I won a ticket to stream The Wilderness and The Trews concert. Two really awesome Canadian bands! That was such a great time, although not hearing a crowd  and seeing the band between plexiglass was weird. Still, it was a great show!! What's the best concert you have seen? What is the best prize you won from a radio station? Just curious! I made my reading goal of 50, and then surpassed it with 66 total for the year! Feel pretty good about that. Brain food at all.... This has been a terrible month for losing loved ones. My aunt passed away on December 5th, and then a good friend and neighbor passed away on December 7th. All right before my birthday. Sent me into the biggest depression. Which I know is going to be extra hard to get out of with COVID restrictions and the way life is now. Sometimes life just really sucks. Especially the death part. We buried her on my birthday whi

One Of Us Is Next by Karen McManus (65)

Kindle:  3521 KB Publisher:  Delacorte Press (January 7, 2020) Print:  374 pages ASIN:  B07RTSJQWP AMAZON Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this. A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.  Until now.  This time it's not an app, though—it's a game.  Truth or Dare. Phoebe 's the first target. If you choose not to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark.  Then comes  Maeve  and she should know better—always choose the dare.  But by the time  Knox  is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection. Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there's

Best friends Noah and Walt are far from popular, but Walt is convinced junior year is their year, and he has a plan that includes wooing the girls of their dreams and becoming amazing athletes. Never mind he and Noah failed to make their baseball team yet again, and Noah’s crush since third grade, Sam, has him firmly in the friend zone. While Walt focuses on his program of jazz, podcasts, batting cages, and a “Hug Life” mentality, Noah feels stuck in status quo...until he stumbles on a stash of old love letters. Each one contains words

And the audio is narrated by Kwame Alexander himself, featuring original music that ties to the book. Blade never asked for a life of the rich and famous. In fact, he’d give anything not to be the son of Rutherford Morrison, a washed-up rock star and drug addict with delusions of a comeback. Or to no longer be part of a family known most for lost potential, failure, and tragedy, including the loss of his mother. The one true light is his girlfriend, Chapel, but her parents have forbidden their relationship, assuming Blade will become just like his father. In reality, the only thing Blade and Rutherford have in common is the music that
