June Monthly News

Welcome to the June edition of the monthly news! June was a weird month. One day it snowed, the next we had a heatwave. I just can't deal with global warming anymore. Frankly, neither can my head. All the up and downs gives me headaches. Then it gets stressful going online, seeing all the bad shit going on in the world besides viruses trying to kill us. #BlackLivesMatter This world is a place I just don't like anymore. When you're young, they say, if you don't like how it is then change it. Yeah, kinda can't do that nowadays. We are all stuck in a boat with only one oar. If the leaders of our countries cannot lead by example, how can we be anything other than what we are and what we've created for society?! Now I'm on a tangent that I didn't think I would get on.... So let's move on. Father's Day is bittersweet for me with my dad gone, I get to spoil my hubby though for all he does. Usually we would go out to eat at The

Tears Of The Silenced by Misty Griffin (36)

Paperback:  256 pages Publisher:  Mango (December 3, 2019) ISBN:  9781642502503 AMAZON A true story of child abuse.  When Misty Griffin was six years old, her family started to live and dress like the Amish. Misty and her sister were kept as slaves on a mountain ranch and subjected to almost complete isolation, sexual abuse, and extreme physical violence. Their step-father kept a loaded rifle by the door to make sure the young girls were too terrified to try to escape. No rescue would ever come since the few people who knew they existed did not care. Misty left the Amish 13 years ago and is currently a nursing student. REVIEW: At moments, this was a tough book to read. You feel dirty at times, witnessing the abuse these two girls, their grandmother and their aunt suffered through the book. It almost felt wrong to read it. But there is a message there. Moving forward is possible . You won't feel it at that moment, in that space in time, but it

The Hunt

Right from the start it is action-packed and gripping! It's not for the feint of heart though. You need to have a strong stomach for a couple of the killings. There was definitely a couple of 'Holy Crap!' moments. The hubby watched the whole things too, and he is not a fan of this genre so there's something to be said to that. He really enjoyed it! So did I! There was comical moments. Crystal is
