153 MINUTES
Based on a true story, an eccentric, determined team of American engineers and designers, led by automotive visionary Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles, are dispatched by Henry Ford II with the mission of building from scratch an entirely new race car with the potential to finally defeat the perennially dominant Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans World Championship.
Starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon.
REVIEW:
I can see why this one is an Oscar winner.
What a great film! It's a great story. It has wonderful actors playing these roles that actually happened, and showing those who didn't live through it, how it all went down.
I'm so glad I watched this one. I didn't think it was going to be that great, like whoopie, it's about racing. But actually, it's the history of the Mustang GT. What a piece of machinery it is too! The history behind it was so intriguing!
The hubby walked into the movie about halfway through and sat down. He stayed for the rest of it and got sucked right in. He was cheering right along with me during the races.
Yeah, a great movie, and frankly one you can watch with your kids if they are over say 7 years old. They could probably get into all the car stuff if they're boys, especially.
FYI; I think the car should've been named after Ken Miles. He was the real star behind it all anyway.
