A World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy named Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

REVIEW:
I love Sam Rockwell. I would watch him perform the phone book.I wish he was in more of the movie though.
Also love the Beatles, and what a way to draw me in and capture my attention but to play them in German. Being part German descent, I loved that!
JoJo is quite a kid. You want to dislike him, he is a Nazi, very devout in fact. As you watch him, you soon realize what an amazing boy he really is. The dynamic between him and the Jewish girl is beautiful to watch, even if he tries to hate her.
JoJo has a friend that is everywhere. He is sort of like his conscience. It's weird and cute.
I can see why this film got nominated for an Oscar. The cinematography is pretty incredible, even if the story is just alright. It's such a well made movie!!
I really enjoyed it!

      Honestly, if I read the synopsis alone, I wouldn't have watched it. Not my usual fare. I'm so glad I did though. I may not be so quick to snub a war movie again.
