My Life With Diabetes And Contour Next One

**DISCLAIMER: I was compensated to discuss my life with diabetes and my use of the Contour Next One gluclose meter. Opinions are owned by Freda's Voice. Snippets are used courtesy of Chatelaine Magazine.

Hello everyone! I am Freda, the face and voice behind Freda's Voice. I am a type 2 diabetic, and have been since I was 32 years of age. I am now almost 43, and have been managing this disease quite well through diet, exercise and daily medication. Having watched many family members have Diabetes, I know all to well how important it is to test your sugar levels to ensure you are healthy. The Contour Next One has been a blessing for me. You easily know instantly whether your sugars are good or not. Let me show you.....

This is a photo of one of my readings before a meal. As you can see, the meter shows you what your numbers are, but lights up green when you are within your target range. If my sugars were not good, the light would be yellow or red, depending on if I needed more gluclose or less. It is so fast and easy to use, and you get your reading instantly.

Then you go to the app on your phone or tablet. First you will have to pair your meter to the app. It is done in the drop-down menu, otherwise you will have to manually do your entries. It is so clear and easy to add the entry in via the little plus sign in the corner, but it is better to have it all automatic from the meter. You can also add what medications you take. Any exercise you do. You can add photos. You can write notes. You can even add the foods you eat that day. All of these entries are great having at your fingertips, especially for doctor appointments. You can show your doctor all of your management at your fingertips.

Being someone who wasn't keen on testing myself, the Contour Next One has made it easier to test myself, understand the results and do what I need to for my sugars. Knowing the color chart is there to let me know if I am lacking or just fine, it helps a great deal. Moreso than understanding the numbers part of it.

Recently I was intereviewed by a lovely lady, Michelle Sponagle, at Chatelaine Magazine. She was curious to know how my life with Diabetes has been, and how the Contour Next One has helped me. Here is a snippet from that interview;

Discovering a new tool
About six weeks ago, her doctor recommended using the CONTOUR®NEXT ONE, an easy-to-use, highly accurate glucose meter developed by Ascensia Diabetes Care.
“It has changed the way I manage my diabetes,” says Labianca. “It is very intuitive. I was able to figure out how to use it very quickly.”
The CONTOUR®NEXT ONE comes with the unique smartLIGHT feature, that responds with a coloured light to indicate when blood glucose levels are on target (green), below target (red), or above target (yellow).
“This fast feedback really allows me to see how I’m doing and what impact the foods I’m eating has on my blood sugar,” she explains. “I can then take action. If I’m below target, I now drink half a glass of fruit juice.”
The device can also wirelessly connect with the free CONTOUR®Diabetes app, which automatically transfers results to a digital logbook and generates reports that can be shared with healthcare providers.

The Contour Next One has changed my life for the better. I can now feel comfortable testing my sugars, knowing it will help guide me in the right direction. I definitely recommend the Contour Next One to anyone with Diabetes. It changed my life and it can change yours too! Ask your pharmacist for the FREE Contour Next One meter with the purchase of testing strips. For more information: contournextone.com

REVIEW:
I sorta hated the beginning.
Starts outs so dark that you can't really make anything out. Hard to know what's going on if you can't see.
It doesn't take long to get light though.
Thankfully.
Man, does the story ever pick up after that. I don't remember much about the original but this one is intense. Right to the very last second too.
Sydney is badass and shows it throughout. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone thought you were o…

REVIEW: I loved the whole series, but especially loved this season as it wrapped it all up.  There were a couple of moments that were so incredibly tragic, but also a couple moments where the most tragic things couldn't have happened to better people. Take Sussy for example. God, how I hated that woman through the whole show and couldn't wait for her to get what was coming to her. Did she get it here? You have to watch and see! This is the season where you will sit on the edge of your seat, waiting to see who will win the kingdom. Does your favorite character prevail above the others? MIne d…
