Quichotte by Salman Rushdie (34)

Hardcover: 416 pagesPublisher: Random House (September 3, 2019)ISBN: 9780593132982
AMAZON
Quichotte, an aging travelling salesman obsessed with TV, is on a quest for love. Unfortunately, his daily diet of reality TV, sitcoms, films and soaps has distorted his ability to separate fantasy from reality. He wishes an imaginary son, Sancho, into existence, while obsessively writing love letters to a celebrity he knows only through his screen. Together the two innocents set off across America in Quichotte's trusty Chevy Cruze to find her and convince her of his love. Quichotte's story is told by Sam DuChamp, a mediocre spy novelist in the midst of a midlife crisis, and as the stories of DuChamp and Quichotte intertwine, we are taken on a wild, picaresque journey through a familiar country on the edge of moral and spiritual collapse.
Salman Rushdie is the author of thirteen previous novels—GrimusMidnight’s Children (for which he won the Booker Prize and the Best of the Booker), Shame

My Life With Diabetes And Contour Next One

**DISCLAIMER: I was compensated to discuss my life with diabetes and my use of the Contour Next One gluclose meter. Opinions are owned by Freda's Voice. Snippets are used courtesy of Chatelaine Magazine.

Hello everyone! I am Freda, the face and voice behind Freda's Voice. I am a type 2 diabetic, and have been since I was 32 years of age. I am now almost 43, and have been managing this disease quite well through diet, exercise and daily medication. Having watched many family members have Diabetes, I know all to well how important it is to test your sugar levels to ensure you are healthy. The Contour Next One has been a blessing for me. You easily know instantly whether your sugars are good or not. Let me show you.....

This is a photo of one of my readings before a meal. As you can see, the meter shows you what your numbers are, but lights up green when you are within your target range. If my sugars were not good, the light would be yellow or red, depending on if I needed more glu…

Andie must learn to embrace the beauty in chaos in this New York Times bestselling novel about friendship, finding yourself, and all the joys in life that happen while you’re busy making other plans.

Andie has a plan. And she always sticks to her plan.

Future? A top-tier medical school.
Dad? Avoid him as much as possible (which isn’t that hard considering he’s a Congressman and he’s never around).
Friends? Palmer, Bri, and Toby—pretty much the most awesome people on the planet, who needs anyone else?
Relationships? No one’s worth more than three weeks.

So it’s no surprise that Andie has her summer all planned out too.

Until a political scandal costs Andie her summer pre-med internship, and lands both she and Dad back in the same house together for the first time in years. Suddenly she’s doing things that aren’t Andie at all—working as a dog walker, doing …
