Storm Boy

AVAILABLE APRIL 5! Rated PG 99 minutes AMAZON Michael 'Storm Boy'  Kingley  (Geoffrey Rush) has grown up to be a successful retired businessman and grandfather. When  Kingley  starts to see images from his past that he can't explain, he is forced to remember his long-forgotten childhood, growing up on an isolated coastline with his father (Jai Courtney). He recounts to his granddaughter the story of how, as a boy (Finn Little), he rescued and raised an extraordinary orphaned pelican, Mr.Percival. Their remarkable adventures and very special bond has a profound effect on all their lives. Based on the beloved book, Storm Boy is a timeless story of an unusual and unconditional friendship. REVIEW: What an amazing movie! This one has the same effect on me as watching Old Yeller did. You went on this incredible journey with this boy and his pelicans. These pelicans would have otherwise died.  Frankly, there is a few movies or stories o

Once there, however, the children discover things are even worse than they imagined. Not only has the Wicked Witch taken control of Oz, Douglas Stanford is now recruiting an army of storybook villains to help him obtain the magic hidden within Astoria's library. The Librarian will need the children's help once more if he's going to protect the library's power from those who intend to exploit it. AUTHOR BIO: Eric Hobbs is the author of the graphic novels Awakenings, The Broadcast, and The Librarian. He lives in Kokomo, Indiana. My review for The Librarian: Little Boy Lost REVIEW: Ok, so not as good as the first book, but it was still good. As a book lover, it is a unique perspective to go inside

The Sisters Brothers

AVAILABLE NOW! RATED R 122 minutes AMAZON Based on Patrick DeWitt's novel, The Sisters Brothers revolves around the colorfully named gold prospector Hermann Kermit Warm, who's being pursued across 1000 miles of 1850's Oregon desert to San Francisco by the notorious assassins Eli and Charlie Sisters. Except Eli is having a personal crisis and beginning to doubt the longevity of his chosen career. And Hermann might have a better offer.  REVIEW: I have come to the conclusion that I am not a western fan. I tried so hard to enjoy this film. It had so many elements that I usually love like plenty of killing action and fighting scenes.  Still, it lacked for me. It had a brilliant cast of actors, Joaquin Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal were what attracted me to it in the first place. They just were not enough. As an avid reader, I am surprised I am not familiar with the book or author. I will have to check them out and quite possibly that wil
