This is the tale of Harry Potter, an ordinary 11-year-old boy serving as a sort of slave for his aunt and uncle who learns that he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is snatched away from his mundane existence by Rubeus Hagrid, the grounds keeper for Hogwarts, and quickly thrown into a world completely foreign to both him and the viewer. Famous for an incident that happened at his birth, Harry makes friends easily at his new school. He soon finds, however, that the wizarding world is far more dangerous for him than he would have imagined, and he quickly learns that not all wizards are ones to be trusted.
My review for the book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
REVIEW:
I saw this film when it came out, but I hadn't read the book until recently. I decided to go back and compare them now that I have read it.
I like both, but the book is better. It's more rich in detail, as movies have to cut stuff out to adapt it all down into a couple of hours.
Still it came to life much more now that I have the book and the full story n my mind.
I have to say, they made the movie brilliantly though. The details are incredible! I felt like the movie was timeless and for every one, and one that is supposed to be watched again and again! Even the hubby watched it with me.
If you haven't seen the film, do so, but I think you should be sure to have read the book first. It changes it a little, but in a good way.
5/5
