July Monthly News

Welcome to the July edition of monthly news! I had my best reading month in a long time. Most were short stories, but 7 is still well above what I have gotten reviewed or read in the last year. I feel good about it anyways. Have you slowed down on your reading? The hubby and I have been together 17.5 years, but celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 5th. I'm hosting a giveaway for Barry Season 1 , come check it out! Not much else happened, but I'm thankful for that.  What about you guys? BOOKS: Actors Anonymous by James Franco Before by Cambria Hebert Chicken Recipes by Hannie P. Maze Runner: The Death Cure #Movie

AVAILABLE NOW! Rated PG. 144 minutes AMAZON US    |    AMAZON CA    |    AMAZON UK In the conclusion to the Maze Runner trilogy, Thomas and the surviving Gladers prepare to face off against WCKD one last time as they fight to find a cure for the deadly disease known as The Flare that has wiped out most of the world. Friendships and loyalties will be tested and the fight against WCKD will also determine who will survive in the end. My review for The Maze Runner My review for The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials REVIEW: Lots of action but a little lax on the story line. I felt like I had too big a break in between the movie to really remember much of the series anyway, at least, since the maze. This apocalyptic society they live in is harsh. It makes for great entertainment, but is pretty far-fetched. This story did try to center around finding a cure for this death. It reminded me of The Walking Dead. These people are cranks though, so don'

Going Through The Change by Samantha Bryant (35)

Kindle:  1458 KB Print:  250 pages Publisher:  Curiosity Quills Press (April 23, 2015) ASIN:  B00T7ZVYM2 AMAZON US   |    AMAZON CA    |    AMAZON UK Going through “the change” isn’t easy on any woman. Mood swings, hot flashes, hormonal imbalances, and itchy skin are par for the course. But for these four seemingly unrelated women, menopause brought changes none of them had ever anticipated—super-heroic changes. Helen discovers a spark within that reignites her fire. Jessica finds that her mood is lighter, and so is her body. Patricia always had a tough hide, but now even bullets bounce off her. Linda doesn’t have trouble opening the pickle jar anymore… now that she’s a man. When events throw the women together, they find out that they have more in common than they knew—one person has touched all their lives. The hunt for answers is on. Samantha Bryant is a middle school Spanish teacher by day, and a novelist and wife and mother by night. In other words, she's

Free Fall by Brad Thor (34)

Kindle:  1582 KB Print:  64 pages Publisher:  Atria/Emily Bestler Books (June 11 2013) ASIN:  B00D5765T0 AMAZON US    |    AMAZON CA    |    AMAZON UK The prelude to  Hidden Order , Brad Thor's riveting and pulse-pounding Scot Harvath thriller. Bradley George "Brad" Thor Jr. is an American thriller novelist, and putative Republican presidential candidate challenging Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election. REVIEW: What an exciting little read! It was my first time reading a book from Brad Thor, and I loved the subject matter. Who wouldn't enjoy an espionage thriller with Somali pirates? I know I did, and it also made me want to read more from the author. I even may start this series right, since this novella is #11.5 in the series, but I didn't know that when I sat to read it. I don't think it mattered anyway. I don't feel like I missed out on anything previously so it's all good. 4/5 **Comp

Isle Of Dogs #Movie

AVAILABLE JULY 17! Rated PG-13 102 minutes AMAZON US    |    AMAZON CA An outbreak of dog flu has spread through the city of Megasaki, Japan, and Mayor Kobayashi has demanded all dogs to be sent to Trash Island. On the island, a young boy named Atari sets out to find his lost dog, Spots, with the help of five other dogs... with many obstacles along the way. Starring Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Yoko Ono and many more! REVIEW: Cute and funny at times.  For a movie without a ton of dialogue, and some of that dialogue in a language I don't understand, it was still easy to know what was going on and enjoy it. These dogs are such hams though. Each with their own personality, bringing these dogs to life. Literally. They talk, and in English. Lots of adventure. A few laughs, and a good story. They say it's not for kids, but I don't see why not. They may get bored with the lack of voice, but there's not much in there they shouldn&
