Orphaned, penniless but ambitious and with a mind crammed with imagination and fresh ideas, the American Phineas Taylor Barnum will always be remembered as the man with the gift to effortlessly blur the line between reality and fiction. Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the son of a tailor will manage to open a wax museum but will soon shift focus to the unique and peculiar, introducing extraordinary, never-seen-before live acts on the circus stage. Some will call Barnum's wide collection of oddities, a freak show; however, when the obsessed showman gambles everything on the opera singer Jenny Lind to appeal to a high-brow audience, he will somehow lose sight of the most important aspect of his life: his family. Will Barnum risk it all to be accepted?

REVIEW:
I can see why this movie was so highly acclaimed in the media. It was one of the best musicals I have ever seen. It had songs that were super contagious. Like right from the get-go, you didn't know the song, but still were bopping along by the end of it. It also had a great, and somewhat true story line that is based on the Barnum circus. I was surprised by the cast. Had no idea Hugh Jackman had such a nice voice, and Zac Efron is handsome as ever.
Definitely a great movie to watch on family night!

  1. Glad you enjoyed it, Freda. But I don't know if this is for me. If it comes to cable I may give it a shot. I am super excited about Jurassic World. Shows my taste in movies, I guess. lol

  3. I LOVED this movie!! I've always been attracted to stories of the circus and also the era in which this was set. It might play a little loose with history and facts, but the entrainment value is over the top. If that encourages someone to delve into the actual history, more power to them and this fabulous movie for its inspiring look at the past, and an intriguing man who brought magic to life!

How Reading Helps Your Brain

The brain is one of the most complex biological structures that scientists and doctors have ever encountered. It is like a machine that runs non-stop that has the computing power to be able to make very complex decisions and experience unexplainable phenomena like emotions. The brain controls every other organ in the body so it is arguably the most important one. Unfortunately, probably due to its brilliance, it is a fairly vulnerable structure that can and does degrade over time.
Many experts agree that one of the best ways to maintain the health of the brain is to keep it active, just as you would with your muscles to keep them strong. There are also a number of nutrients that are very important to maintaining a healthy brain and preventing its decline. Reviewy is a website that contains information on a number of different supplements that can be used to boost brain power and protect it from degradation.
