Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone...except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to the villains who have the power to end them both.
Marissa Meyer lives near Seattle with her husband and their three cats. She's a fan of most things geeky (Sailor Moon, Firefly, color-coordinating her bookshelf...) and will take any excuse to put on a costume. She may or may not be a cyborg.

REVIEW:
Most know what a huge fan of the Lunar Chronicles I am. Forget everything you know about that series before jumping into this one though. The two series are so very different, and comparing the two would be unrealistic.
I really like this series.
I like how two different groups of superheroes/villains, which you really need to decide for yourself which one you think is which, battle good and not-so-good. I found that while you would naturally be a Renegade fan, it wasn't so for me in the end. I was all Anarchist. I felt like they were the Robin Hood of superheroes. Fighting for the injustice of man. I felt like the Renegades were trying to maintain order. Neither side is wrong, really, but is either side right?!
So let me talk about Nova/Nightmare. She is amazeballs. And I totally want her and Adrian, *swooning*, too hook up already. The chemistry is unreal. Like two dogs in heat.
Anyway...
I look forward to the next book when it comes out. For sure.
4/5

I have read some of her work and loved it. I won Cress through a Goodreads giveaway and that will be my next one of hers. Great review and glad to know I have so much more to look forward to.

I loved Cress, but it does leave one hanging a lil bit.
