Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn get more action than they bargained for in the mother of all comedies! After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mom, Linda (Hawn), to travel with her to paradise. When the trip takes an unexpected turn, the polar opposite mother/daughter duo realize they must settle their differences and work together to escape the outrageous jungle adventure they've fallen into.
I've seen this film three times total. The first two times I was drinking with friends and totally missed it. This time around though, I watched it with the hubby and saw the whole thing.
I thought it was good. It made me laugh, though it was slow going. I actually was shocked by a couple parts too, like BAM! They were surprising scenes that normally are not in a comedy movie, but it was great. Made for a better story line, which frankly, comedies are usually lacking there.
The hubby just thought it was ok. He did laugh once or twice, but he did seem pretty bored throughout.
It was great seeing Goldie Hawn back on screen. Plus Wanda Sykes and Joan Cusack are in it too. Love them!!

ReplyDeleteThis looks great. I love Goldie Hawn and Wanda Sykes, she's a hoot. Used to watch her on Christine.

I felt the same way. It wasn't the best comedy ever but her and Goldie Hawn had a great chemistry and it was fun seeing Sykes and Cusack as well.
