#Win Always My Baby by Martha Kennerson (US) With #Recipe

MARTHA KENNERSON is a bestselling and award-winning author who believes her current blessings are only matched by the struggle it took to achieve such happiness. She has enjoyed a successful career in executive management for more than 20 years and lives in Texas with her family.

Bon Appétit and a Book: A delicious recipe to enjoy alongside the book.

One of my favorite comfort foods that would go well with this book is shrimp and grits. Here’s an excellent recipe:
·         Bring water to a boil. Add salt and pepper. Add grits and cook until water is absorbed, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and cheese.
·         Rinse shrimp and pat dry. Fry the bacon in a large skillet until browned; drain well. In grease, add shrimp. Cook until shrimp turn pink. Add lemon juice, chopped bacon, parsley, scallions and garlic. Sauté for 3 minutes.
·         Spoon grits into a serving bowl. Add shrimp mixture and mix well. Serve immediately.

  1. Gotta love a good spotlight and recipe! I've not actually at that before, but it's almost a staple down here in Florida. Thanks for the share on both counts!

  2. We were just talking about grits--I don't know if I've actually made them, but we've had them. And how could you go wrong with bacon and shrimp!?

7th Blogoversary! (#Giveaway)

Back in 2009, I decided to start this blog for book reviews. I had my other blog for photography, but didn't want to mix anything with it. So Freda's Voice was born.

I deleted the first post I ever wrote. It was just a bunch of blathering on about starting the blog. Much like the first paragraph here.

So let's get to the good stuff.
You know I can only celebrate how far Freda's Voice has come by giving back to you, the readers. Without you, this would be for me and me alone, and what would be the point in that?!

There will be one US and one Canadian winner. They can each choose a book from Amazon valued at $10 or less.

Easy enough, right?!
