Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender stars in this big-screen action-adventure, based on the wildly popular gaming phenomenon. Fassbender plays Callum Lynch, who experiences the life of his 15th century ancestor through a technology that unlocks his genetic memories. Callum discovers he once belonged to a secret society of assassins and amasses lethal skills to take on the oppressive Templars.
Great cinematography!
The hubby and I watched this together. I had seen him play the game a few times, but my knowledge of the game is slim-to-none. I didn't know the story or the characters, other than the role he played as the assassin. This is where the hubby could fill me in, knowing the game inside and out.
The first thing he noticed was how much story they added to an already existing story, though that was minimal to begin with. There were a couple of moments that he was lost at what was happening, since it didn't happen in the game. It made the movie better though. The story got quite exciting, full of action, and pulled us in deep.
The actors were well cast in this film too. They played the scenes well, which were also very vivid and brought it all to life. It was so interesting, even if you had no knowledge of the game or its existence. For those that know the game will agree some of the scenes are spot on! It was such a good movie!

Cool review, glad you liked it!! No idea why the critics hated the movie, but good honest reviewers like you will help give this movie a fair chance. :)
ReplyDeleteI know zero about the game, but maybe that's ok. Always looking for something we will both like!
