EXCERPT

He took a step, then another. I should not have worn heels. I rocked on the little spike-like tops. That single random thought kept me tethered to the corporeal world by only the thinnest of thread. The rest of my world spun around this silver werewolf, spiraling, and I saw the moon shifting from new to crescent to full, and seasons passing. His eyes were scrying mirrors and the visions of years and seasons and the turning dome of the sky burned into my very bones.
Another step, and the sensations snapped the last ties to my logical, human mind, as if a vortex surrounded his entire body and ensnared me within it. I drowned and spun in its clutches.
His hands closed over my arms, steadying me before I tumbled away with the clouds. Shocks of lightening snapped through me It was too intense. There was barely enough of me to encompass it all. It was too much! I threatened to crack under the weight of the storm. Words were impossible. Breathing was impossible. Everything was impossible except existing long enough for the clouds to roll past.
His lips pressed to mine. It was a relief akin to a humid day shattered by a cloudburst. Our lips met, his tongue slid against mine and seared my entire body with an exquisite, agonizing sensation that burned our souls, melting us as candles placed too close, the wax mingling and merging and reforming.
The spell released us once the wax had cooled.
His strong hands still held my arms, and prevented me from falling, or escaping.
The room came back into focus: my father, the carpet, the faint scent of coffee, the smell of my shampoo, my brother’s lingering scent. Over top of it all was Sterling.
My breathing came fast and shallow, my heart raced.
He was here.
It had happened. I wasn’t Unwanted. My father wasn't a hypocrite. The future I had abandoned unfurled before me as a dark, endless hallway of hidden possibilities and secrets.

Starts outs so dark that you can't really make anything out. Hard to know what's going on if you can't see. It doesn't take long to get light though. Thankfully. Man, does the story ever pick up after that. I don't remember much about the original but this one is intense. Right to the very last second too. Sydney is badass and shows it throughout. Can you imagine what it would

#Win 1917 (US/CDN)

If the message is not received in time the regiment will walk into a trap and be massacred. To get to the regiment they will need to cross through enemy territory. Time is of the essence and the journey will be fraught with danger. Starring Colin Firth. REVIEW: So it wasn't the best war movie I've ever seen, but it was still good. The cinematography is amazing! So rich and with so much detail. The story is just okay though. Two soliders sent to stop the front lines from walking into a trap. Not that interesting and often predictable. A few yelling at the screen moments happened, not gonna lie. How it was all brought together, mixed with a tug on the emotional heart strings is what is makes it good. Watched it with the hubby. He was engaged throughout, so that was good. He's n
