Foodies Read 2016

Want to challenge yourself?  Pick a level below.

Short-Order Cook: 1 to 3 books
Pastry Chef: 4 to 8 books
Sous-Chef: 9 to 13 books
Chef de Cuisine: 14 to 18
Cordon-Bleu Chef: More than 19

Don’t like to plan?  Choose the a la carte option and let us know when you read a book about food.

What counts as a food book?  Any genre – fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, etc.  If food is a major part of the plot then it counts!

I loved this challenge the past couple of years that it was at I'd Rather Be At The Beach. Now I want to welcome the new host, Heather! Looking forward to this challenge now hosted by you.

I choose level: SOUS-CHEF (9 to 13 books)

I chose Cordon-Bleu Chef in 2014 and I know I will fail. I've read 8 to date, so should have chosen smaller. However, with my foodie reads the previous year it seemed logical to finish 19. I won't bite off too much in 2016 though, so choose the level above where I'm at now. Seems simple enough....

Will list my books as they are finished. Wish me luck, and happy reading!

  1. My Mother's Kitchen - Meera Ekkanath Klein
  2. The No Time To Cook! Book - Elena Rosemund Hoerr
  3. Planted With Hope - Tricia Goyer & Sherry Gore

**No compensation was received for posting. This post is part of an annual reading challenge.

  5. Glad to be here among you all, and I agree it is hard to choose a number.. but no one will "whisk us into hollandaise" if we read more-- or less - will they?:)

REVIEW: I loved the whole series, but especially loved this season as it wrapped it all up.  There were a couple of moments that were so incredibly tragic, but also a couple moments where the most tragic things couldn't have happened to better people. Take Sussy for example. God, how I hated that woman through the whole show and couldn't wait for her to get what was coming to her. Did she get it here? You have to watch and see! This is the season where you will sit on the edge of your seat, waiting to see who will win the kingdom. Does your favorite character prevail above the others? MIne d…

It was so much fun to do! It was super cool to watch the tinsel levitate too! Then we sat to watch the movie.
What a good movie for the whole family! It was filled with action and adventure. Plus the story line was what I appreciated most.
The hubby had lots to say about this one. He was happiest that the film focused on one of the original Spider-man nemesis', Mysterio. He is one of the best Ma…
