Riveting Harlequin Romance 3 Book #Giveaway

THE DEPUTY’S REDEMPTION
By Delores Fossen
Harlequin; March 1, 2015
$5.50 US; 217 pages
ISBN: 9780373698189

A Texas lawman risks his future to protect a woman from his past in USA Today bestselling author Delores Fossen’s latest Sweetwater Ranch book.

The woman fleeing a cold-blooded killer is no stranger to Deputy Colt McKinnon. Fourteen years ago, Elise Nichols was the love of his life. Now she’s back in Sweetwater Springs–to be the star witness in an upcoming murder trial that could tear the Texas lawman’s family apart.

With her explosive revelations certain to rock the town, Elise didn’t expect to be welcomed home with open arms. Certainly not by the cowboy with the badge who once meant everything to her. But after being run off the road and shot at, she has no choice but to trust him. Even more dangerous is the desire that’s reigniting, making Elise yearn for something she may not live to see.

DELORES FOSSEN is a USA Today bestselling author with a family tree that includes Texas cowboys, Choctaw and Cherokee Indians, a Louisiana pirate, and a Scottish rebel who battled side by side with William Wallace. With ancestors like that, it's easy to understand why Delores, a Texan and former Air Force captain, feels as if she were genetically predisposed to writing romances. Along the way to fulfilling her DNA destiny, Delores married an Air Force top gun who just happens to be of Viking descent. With all those romantic bases covered, she doesn’t have to look too far for inspiration.

Q&A with Delores Fossen
Author of THE DEPUTY’S REDEMPTION

THE DEPUTY’S REDEMPTION is the latest in your Sweetwater Ranch series. Can you tell us a bit about the series and characters?
The series is about a family of cowboy cops who are torn apart when their mother is arrested for murder. In THE DEPUTY’S REDEMPTION, Colt McKinnon is a deputy sheriff who also helps his brothers run their successful Sweetwater Ranch. He has to risk his life to protect Elise Nichols, a woman from his past who could ultimately send his father to prison.

Do you have any say in the design of your book covers?
I do fill out a detailed art fact sheet for Harlequin for each book, and I describe three scenes for the art department. The idea is for me to convey the tone and appearance of the main characters and the story.

What drew you to writing romantic suspense?
I love weaving together the romance and the mystery, and the danger makes the stakes so high. It’s easy to put the petty stuff aside when the bad guys are trying to kill you.

If THE DEPUTY’S REDEMPTION was made into a movie, which Hollywood actors would you cast for the main characters and why?
Charlie Hunnam for Colt, but I’d want him less buff. Colt is more on the lanky side.
Natalie Portman for Elise. There’s a quiet strength about her that I think Elise has.

What are you working on next?
I’m working on a new series for Harlequin Intrigue—titled Appaloosa Pass. It’s a 6-book series about a family of Texas lawmen who are looking for a serial killer. I’m also working on a new single title trilogy for HQN tentatively called Spring Hill. It, too, will be about a family of cowboys and should be released in late 2016.

Bon Appétit and a Book:
There's something warm and homey about a couple of yummy cookies and a cup of hot tea. Add a good book, and it's the perfect way to spend a dreary afternoon or a cold night. My all-time favorite cookie is as easy to make as it is delicious. Even better, it's a six ingredient cookie! Quick, simple and delicious!

Mexican Tea Cake Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp . vanilla
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cups finely chopped pecans
extra powdered sugar

Mix butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt. Stir in pecans.
Chill dough for an hour.
Preheat oven to 350.
Roll dough into one inch balls and place them on an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes. While cookies are still warm, roll them in the extra powdered sugar.
If you can, let them cool before eating.

If you can't, grab your book, your tea or coffee, find a comfy chair and enjoy!

THE MARINE’S TEMPTATION
By Jennifer Morey
Harlequin; March 3, 2015
$5.50 US; 288 pages
ISBN: 9780373279104

Georgia has seen one wealthy Adair ruin her stepmother's life and swears she won't get involved with his son Carson, but she can’t resist his tempting good looks. Award-winning author Jennifer Morey pairs former special ops soldier Carson Adair with determined librarian Georgia Mason in THE MARINE’S TEMPTATION.

So what if he's a hot former special ops soldier who showers her with extravagant gifts? He is the sexiest man she's ever met and it's hard to hate him for searching for his long-lost stepbrother, or tracking down the traitor behind his botched mission.

When Georgia is kidnapped by a disturbed ex-boyfriend and thrown in the line of fire, Carson protects her, igniting their scorching passion. But after all they’ve gone through together, will Georgia fit in with the elitist Adairs?

JENNIFER MOREY’S first stories were inspired by her childhood love of Man o' War, Secretariat and The Black Stallion by Walter Farley. Bubbles of dialogue above cartoon drawings of horses led to hand-written tales of adolescent love. Years later, and two months after graduating from Colorado State University with a B.S. in geology, her mother died suddenly and the course of her life changed. The writer in her resurfaced, and she pursued a serious career. As Associate Project Manager for the Spacecraft Systems Segment of a satellite imagery and information company, Jennifer works with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. When not writing, she can be found playing volleyball, hiking, flower gardening, socializing, or cuddling with her rescued golden retriever and feisty yellow lab. A finalist in more than twenty contests, Jennifer has received several awards for her writing, one of which led to the publication of her debut novel, The Secret Soldier.
