I yell. Everyone yells in my house. It's how we communicate. It's really normal around here.
The hubby works in a steel factory. It's super noisy in there so he only knows how to yell. My son and myself have to yell to be heard. The dogs yelp just to join in. Man, it's a noisy place here, no wonder I'm the quiet police at times.
But today I wanna talk about the power of yes.
If yes wasn't an option, life would not be fun, interesting or worthwhile. Granted saying no is at times a must, but saying yes is gratifying.
Here is an example.
Last year I attended Stars On Ice.
I was contacted again this year to see the show.
Because I saw it already, I didn't want to be greedy, so I wrote back that I had already attended the previous year and is that a problem.
It wasn't.
So now I was able to go back to Stars On Ice, see my favorite skaters once again but in different ice-dance routines, plus see some new skaters.
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir came out at halftime in Lindt jackets and spoke to the crowd. They are so cute, I couldn't put my camera down.
Now if you remember them from Sochi, they have some remarkable chemistry when together skating.
I was totally swooning right here!
So even though my initial reaction was to say no, I'd better not. I'm so glad I said yes and once again was given a memorable night.
Have you ever seen professional figure skaters live?

No, I haven't. I would love to someday see an exhibition with some of my favorite skaters like Michelle Kwan and Yuna Kim.
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't but I'd love to (wish I could have said yes!) I do love to watch ice skating, especially during the Olympics. I usually catch Stars on Ice on TV whenever I can -- lucky you to have attended twice :)
ReplyDeleteYes and the amazing to watch ~ Glad you got to go again ~ Happy Weekend to you ~ xoxo

Yes I have and my very first time I was a little girl and they picked me out if the audience and brought me on their pirate ship! I even got to take home a flag! Best show on ice ever for me!
ReplyDeleteNo, I've never seen it live. I tried to get tickets when the Olympics were in Salt Lake City, but that was one of the first events to sell out...
ReplyDeleteNo, but sounds fun
ReplyDeleteglad you enjoyed yourself. It's been a long time since I've seen professional skaters, but I remember going to ice shows at Madison Square Garden. {:-D
ReplyDeleteI love your vintage alphabet cards. I once heard that you should tell your children 'yes' as much as possible....not sure if it's a good idea, but why sweat the small stuff.
ReplyDeleteI haven`t seen them live :( But I remember as I was a child, I used to stay up long nights to watch them on tv. I liked them so much..but as I grew up, I kind of forgot about them :(
ReplyDeleteNo, not live - but glad you got to go again!
ReplyDeleteI went to see a Holiday on Ice show when I was young, and when my girls were little, we took them to see Disney's Hercules on Ice. Therefore, I haven't been to an ice show in over 15 years. They are beautiful to watch. Visiting via Alphabet Thursday - #26
ReplyDeleteI remember as a child going to an ice show once, but that was many, many years ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have! Long ago I attended a Stars on Ice program. I do love ice skating.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you got to go two years in a row!
Y ... yes I have. I too saw Stars on Ice (such a great show)! By the way, nice little write up on it; within this post.
