Teaser Tuesdays



The only way my grandmother acknowledged the lake's existence was to comment about a breeze that came off it. Many times, I was tempted to go there on my own when I was outside at the rear of the house, which is where my grandmother preferred me to be. But I was afraid of walking off our property without specific permission to do so. It was as if we had an invisible electrical fence, and if I crossed the line, I would suffer a stinging shock.
