H Is For Hooked

I work a lot.
I like it. I do it from my home office and can take as many breaks as I want, for as long as I want.
The more I work, the more I make.
Needless to say, I don't give myself a lot of downtime. Me time. Time to unwind. Realistically I might watch a show before bed, if I'm lucky.
That brings me to the topic of the day.... what I am hooked on lately.
I sit at my computer and watch Downton Abbey on Netflix.
Yup, other than The Simpsons Tapped Out game, this is my latest obsession.
Recently, a blogger pal of mine, VVB32Reads, had an event on her blog. This is not an unusual thing, but this round was Downton Abbey. Having not watched before, the interest was piqued during this event. It's not that I didn't hear of it previously, I just heard in more detail to make it interesting.
So I sat and watched the first episode.
Now I'm hooked!

I love the Edwardian era.... the fashion, music, everything about it appeals to me. The stories within the story that are real and I can pinpoint in history, like the sinking of the Titanic, are used to help the reader feel connected. And the characters are a glorious cast of people. It's based around a snooty group of Dukes and such, but what got me was how much hierarchy is in the help. The butler and head maid think their crap smells the same as the noblemen they work for.... ah, but it made for great downtime and pulled me in.

Do you have a show that you can't live without seeing every episode?

I watch Walking Dead. So hooked on that show. It took me a year to finally relent and start watching it and now I can't wait for February for the new episodes.
