F Is For Festive Family

I don't have a lot of real close friends, got tons of acquaintances or people who may call me friend, but my selection is few.
It seems the older I get, the less friends I focus on.
I keep in contact with everyone on Facebook, family included, but only visit my two besties.
So let's put our attention on my other friends. The ones that God blessed me with. Family.
My son, Kris, and myself
Celebrating Christmas festivities was hard this year. I had my son, but my hubby was working for the first time in 13 years we have been together. That meant it was just my son and I for most of the day. In the afternoon we spent it with my side of the family, and in the evening with my in-laws. This photo was taken at home in the morning, in front of our tree. Mom wanted a Christmas photo and the kiddo happily obliged.
Then we left around 3pm to go to my sisters house for turkey dinner.

*NOTE: I am slightly dense at times and forgot to take photos at my sisters of anything other than her crazy cat. She is such a spoiled princess, she only eats treats from your hand. She climbs up people, and even sits on my nephews head. Plus she has already taken down half the Christmas tree for my sister. What a character!!*
Princess Sophie
So when the hubster got off work, we then went to his parents home for our Christmas lasagna. Of course gifts were exchanged, and this I managed to get on film.
The hubbs, his dad and mom.
The hubster loves his Polo shirts!

The kiddo and his new favorite sweater.
He actually put it on when we got home.
There is no photo of me and my goodies, sadly, but I did have a wonderful holiday and was very thankful for all I was able to do and have done. It felt like Thanksgiving all over again, but I suppose that is a good thing! It should be Christmas (or Thanksgiving) every day! It's festive times like this that remind me of this rule. Maybe it should be my resolution for 2014?! Always try to enjoy each day, even the crappy ones. Be thankful for who you have in your life, and love one another as much as you can while you can.

What about you? Did you celebrate and do you think you will make any resolutions for the new year?

PS - Happy belated Christmas.

  5. I'm not sure if I have any resolutions, except to eat better and exercise. How nice it was that you were able to visit both sides of the family and enjoy (in your own way) everyone. Children, no matter what age, are so special! {:-Deb

  7. Like you, I have only a few true friends. And I agree with Charleen -- that's all one needs. I got so caught up in my granddaughter's enjoyment of Christmas that I only managed to take two photos. What's wrong with me? Oh, well. There are plenty of images in my brain.

  13. Your photos are wonderful! I especially loved the one of you and your son. He is a handsome young man and you are beautiful! This was a quiet Christmas for us but a very enjoyable one. Our son and his wife came over and it was with great shock that we realized hours later that we had not taken ONE photograph. The same thing happened when we had a group of friends come over for a pre-holiday get- together. Our minds were obviously out for lunch!!!

  14. I spent my holiday with the entire family creating fond memories that we can all look back on for years to come...

That is one of my favorite rules in life... It isn't always easy to do but it is well worth the effort!

Thanks for linking to the letter "F"!

    Fantastic job!

    A+

REVIEW:
Such great animation!
There was always something going on in this movie. Even though it was a story I have seen played out a million times and a million different ways, they all are different too. This had more of a story. It was very magical and is definitely fun for the whole family.
Want to point out, Max, the dog, stole the show for me. He is so adorable, even if animation. Such a good dog.
This is one of those Christmas movies that you really can enjoy all year round. It has enough laughs, fun and morals to be played anytime. Plus there is nothing wrong with Christmas cheer in February.

#ChristmasInJuly #Win A Onesie Or Pajamas Of Your Choice! (US/CDN)

The most wonderful time of the year is back, (a little early)! It's Christmas in July!! You too can celebrate with a wonderful gift right here. UglyChristmasSweater.com has the funniest, traditional and branded goodies on the planet! Here is a sneak peek at a couple of things I personally love on their site.

Last year, I reviewed one of the sweaters. You can view that post here. It is easily my favorite holiday sweater. It's so warm and I love the quality of it. This year, I was asked if I wanted a onesie or pajamas to check out. You know I had to jump at the chance, knowing what great quality clothing they have.

I got the Grinch on my onesie! I got an extra large size, and before you go crazy knowing that is big for me, I don't like my pjs to be tight and constricting. I always go a size up on my night clothes. I must have been traumatized in a past life.... These Grinch pajamas are soooooo soft and comfortable. The best part is that it's A/C season so I can actually wher…
