#111: A Shadow Of Light - Bella Forrest

Since the implosion at The Oasis and Derek's stay at Hawk Headquarters, The Shade has fallen into a state of utter chaos. To make matters worse, the citizens of Derek's kingdom have become suspicious of his loyalties and accuse him of siding with the enemy... At a time when Derek desperately needs full cooperation from his subjects, they wish to put their own King on trial.

Meanwhile, Sofia is being held hostage by the hunters. They are determined to rid her of her infatuation with the vampire. She submits to the strict routine and training they impose on her, but the only fuel that keeps her going is the thought of reuniting with Derek - something Reuben is fighting with every fiber of his being to ensure will never happen.

...Until one day, out of the blue, Reuben appears to have a change of heart and comes to Sofia with a proposal; a solution that she never dreamed possible. A solution that would fulfil her heart's deepest desires and secure her and Derek's future together, forever.

But can she really trust this man who is so renowned for his hatred of vampires? Does she even have a choice?

My review for book 1, A Shade of Vampire
My review for book 2, A Shade of Blood
My review for book 3, A Castle of Sand

REVIEW:
Continuing where A Castle of Sand left off, thankfully, you continue on with Derek and Sofia. That cliff we were hanging on, we drop off of. You can't help but wonder where the story is going and if it will all come together again. It does though.
There are a few pleasant and not-so-pleasant surprises along the way. You lose track of who's dying or not. So many questions are raised. They get answers though.
I feel the story had something going on at the end of it, but I wasn't balancing precariously from the edge. Loved there wasn't a cliffhanger in this one. It still kept my interest though too. It was just nice not to have an abrupt ending.
I can't wait to read A Blaze of Sun! The name alone leads your mind to dangerous places, imagining the worst, especially sun and vampires.
What an exciting series!

REVIEW:
I sorta hated the beginning.
Starts outs so dark that you can't really make anything out. Hard to know what's going on if you can't see.
It doesn't take long to get light though.
Thankfully.
Man, does the story ever pick up after that. I don't remember much about the original but this one is intense. Right to the very last second too.
Sydney is badass and shows it throughout. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone thought you were o…

REVIEW: I loved the whole series, but especially loved this season as it wrapped it all up.  There were a couple of moments that were so incredibly tragic, but also a couple moments where the most tragic things couldn't have happened to better people. Take Sussy for example. God, how I hated that woman through the whole show and couldn't wait for her to get what was coming to her. Did she get it here? You have to watch and see! This is the season where you will sit on the edge of your seat, waiting to see who will win the kingdom. Does your favorite character prevail above the others? MIne d…
