#73: Review & #Giveaway: Three Little Words - Susan Mallery

Can first love turn into the real deal? Anything can happen in a sizzling new Fool's Gold story from New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery.
Isabel Beebe thinks she's cursed in the romance department. Her teenage crush, Ford Hendrix, ignored all her letters. Her husband left her for another…man. So Isabel has come home to dust off her passion for fashion and run the family bridal shop until her parents are ready to sell it. Then she'll pursue her real dreams. At least, that's the plan, until sexy, charming Ford returns and leaves her feeling fourteen all over again…..
Seeing Isabel all grown-up hits bodyguard trainer Ford like a sucker punch. Back when heartbreak made him join the military, her sweet letters kept him sane. Now he can't take his eyes—or his lips—off her. The man who gave up on love has a reason to stay in Fool's Gold forever—if three little words can convince Isabel to do the same.

Review:
I had no idea this was a 13th book in a series until after I started reading it and looked it up on Amazon. Didn't matter though. I may have no clue what happened in the previous books, but I felt it was easily read as a stand alone.
Having said that, I do plan on backtracking in the series.
The author is quite skilled at shaping her characters. You may see glimpses of yourself in them, but if not you will still feel a connection to them. I did think they had rather outlandish jobs for small-town living though, but that is my only criticism.
The story was so sweet and romantic. There is a certain amount of "fluffiness" to it, but that "fluffiness" is what I look for in a romance novel. I have to feel swooned!
And this one hit the mark!
Listen up ladies, there's a couple hunka-hunka dudes in the book. Best part is.... they're brothers!!!!
HA!
This is definitely one for romance fans!

  4. It's a another summer hit that sizzles by Susan Mallery!

Wow, talk about having a wonderful summer! Susan Mallery does it again with Three Little Words. How could you not love Ford Hendrix and Isabel Beebe? They have to be some of her best characters yet. Isabel was in love with Ford when she was just 14 years old and he was engaged to her sister. After things fell through with Isabel's sister Ford leaves Fool's Gold for the Navy and doesn't return till many years later. You could say fate has brought them back into town at the same time and allows Isabel her chance at her first and only love. This book also gives you the story about Consuelo and Kent Hendrix with their story. What a wonderful book and a great way to end the summer!

  7. So in love with the Fool's Gold Series, its been a great summer in Fool's Gold! Ford is so delicious, he is my favorite male character! Really how many men would even talk to their mother, after she set up a stand at a festival to find them a wife? The addition of Isabels love letters to Ford was so sweet!
