She could save the world—or destroy it. Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life—until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, killing everyone she loves, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can’t do either alone. With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally trust Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him? Who can Evie trust? As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not t

Stop Distracted Driving!

This post brought to you by Insurance Hunter . All opinions are 100% mine. Are you guilty of texting or uing your G.P.S. while driving? If you said yes, this post is for you. You may think checking your phone or using your G.P.S. while driving is not a big deal. You're a multi-tasker, you say. But distracted driving is an issue that happens too often and should not be taken lightly. Studies show that 8 out of 10 accidents are due to distracted driving. By those stats alone, this shows this really has to stop. To know that this can all be prevented if drivers remain focused on the road and not their phones, should be enough to end it. You wouldn't want you or a loved one to become a statistic, would you? It's time to put away those phones while driving. Keep your eyes on the road when you are behind the wheel, it could save a life, maybe even your own. Stop Distracted Drivers This is an instance when I am glad I no longer drive. I am sure I would be guilty of distract

Tons of WOW moments, so many wicked cool action scenes, lots of things getting blown to bits, groovy rides and graphic deaths. I LOVE this Die Hard movie! It fits perfect to this series. It's not as good as the first, but really they never are, still it's amazing in its' own right. The hubby agrees. He says he loved that it was steady action. Wo

Quickie Giveaway: Hybrid - Brian O'Grady

Seven years ago, Amanda Flynn returned from a Honduran camp as the sole survivor of a mysterious new virus known as EDH1. Most of its victims die a gruesome, agonizing death. Others become violent savages. But a precious few, like Amanda, survive . . . and change. Amanda escaped from a three-month quarantine because the virus made her different, superior. She can sense things, do things, using only her mind - and these abilities tempt her to test their limits. To harm. Even, though she may resist, to kill. Now, an outbreak of violent deaths in a peaceful Colorado town leads Amanda to suspect that a mutated EDH1 has arrived in America. The virologists she warns want her back, for her immunity may be the only key to its defeat. But no lab can hold her. Not while she wields the power. And now there is another. A man of menace: tall, amoral, relentless. His mission is nothing less than the end of human society - and the birth of a new order forged of his own will. He has the power, too.

Safe Haven

A young woman with a mysterious past lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her. Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks. Rated PG 13 115 mins. AMAZON US   |   AMAZON CA Review: I couldn't get the hubby to watch this movie no matter how hard I tried. So alone I sat. I soon realized it would be his loss. It was sweet like sugar and I liked it a lot. It has this bit of intrigue also because of the mystery going on. I liked that it wasn't just a lovey-dovey romance. Being a woman who was once in an abusive relationship, at times the movie took me to places I wasn't sure I wanted to go to, but it didn't kill it for me or make me want to shut it off. On the contrary. I found myself immersed even more. Now, honestly, it wasn't as good as The Notebook, but it was still decent. Bring tissues for the end.... all I am saying on that. 3/5

J Is For Jalapeno

Jack-o-lanterns. Hmmmppppffffhhhh! Still pumpkins to me. Come to think of it, I don't know a single person who uses Jack-o-lanterns. So obviously that won't be what I talk about. I don't do carved up pumpkins anymore anyways. My kids are too old to enjoy it, so why bother? I live vicariously through others. This time I want to show you something I have to have. Can't live without it, so I grow my own. Jalapeno peppers. I love spicy food, and specifically cooking with hot peppers. The store closest to me doesn't always have a decent selection of hot peppers, so I decided to tackle growing them myself. I have a bit of a green thumb and figured it wouldn't be too hard. (Keep in mind I have no yard to garden in, only my jungle that used to be a living room.) I was right too! They are easy to grow, and I have yielded enough to pass around to my friends as well. Though not too many, I don't ever want to be without. The only other food resource I gro
