Armchair BEA: Blogger Development

Read my introduction post.

Read my classics post.

I've come a long way in almost 4 years of blogging, besides the fact I went from "Book Blogger" to "Lifestyle Blogger"

When I first started blogging back in 2009, my posts were premature to me. My reviews felt like the ones you did in school. Very to the point and that's it, no personalization of any kind. Now I add myself to each post. Or at least, I try. It's tough telling the world about yourself sometimes, by connecting yourself to whatever you're writing about via personal experience. It all makes sense to do it though....
So someone please tell the 2009 Freda that!
She was too afraid to open up. What if you guys didn't like her? What if you only want basic book info and opinion? What if?!
Then I went to a conference last October, She's Connected Toronto. I not only met an incredible group of people, and networked with amazing brands and companies, but I learned a ton about being a better blogger. Maybe I'm still utilizing the mass of information I learned, and believe me when I say I still am, but it has changed my look at blogging entirely. I highly recommend all bloggers attend at least one blogger conference in their lifetime. Whatever you choose, I am positive it will guide you further, as it has with me.

  1. That's so interesting that you are a Lifestyle blogger rather than a book blogger. It's so nice to meet fellow Canadians at Armchair BEA.
