A Is For Animals

Oh, how I love airplanes! Only to have been in one once in my life. From one spot in Canada to the next. Nothing special, but I know I will travel by air more in life.
I also have a tendency of visiting the airport in Hamilton and Toronto, just to watch them all take off. A friend and I would get together for a coffee, and somehow always end up at the airport. Just to hear those turbine engines would make me pine for flight.
However, today I do not want to talk about my love for airplanes, no, I want to tell you about my love for animals. Especially my animals, Princess Ewok and Bella.
A few years back, my mom had a friend in need of a housesitter/dogsitter. I had nothing better to do with my time, at that time, so I left home for 3 weeks and after a train ride, was in Brockville. They had two Shih-Tzus that I fell in love with. So you know the search began for my own Shih Tzu when I arrived back home. That's how Princess Ewok came into my life.
Princess Ewok, 3 yrs old.
I got her at 6 weeks, but waited for her to be born and raised before I was able to bring her home. I knew someone who bred her breed, and was willing to sell me a pup from the next litter.
Once I got her home, she became like one of my children. I love her so much. She has quite the personality you know... everyone who meets her says so.
With her being such a delight, the hubster got this brilliant idea to get another dog. Work for me, fun for Princess Ewok. The same breeder had a dog, but it wasn't a Shih Tzu. She was also a rescue dog, who lived a crate life. Poor thing... my heart strings got pulled and I agreed to a "temporary trial".
 So Bella was brought over.
Bella, 3 yrs old.

I tell you that every reservation I had about getting a second dog, let alone a special needs dog, went out the window pretty fast. She is the most loyal and lovable creature on the face of the planet. I mean come on, look at that face! She hasn't been an issue, and was so easy to train. I love her.
Yup, now I have 5 kids. The hubby, 2 teens and 2 dogs, and I couldn't be happier.

So for any of you canine lovers reading this drivel, I have a contest going on for people in and around Toronto area on June 8th, it's at Echo Beach. The Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam.... check it out and enter. It's super easy, but read it carefully.
