Review:
I chose my mothers' name, so this will be a gift for her.
Her name is Shirley. And you will note I did not choose to use her last name. Most of the examples seen on the website used both first and last names. Since my mother has been married, and since widowed, I opted to leave it out.
With just her name, each letter is the beginning of a beautiful piece of scripture. When read together, it makes sense, and feels inspiring. Though personalized to the letters in her name, it really pertains to us all as we read along.
I also appreciated the little snippet of scripture in the bottom right hand corner. It was a nice added touch.
While deciding on which look to choose, I went with daisies, as they are her favorite flower. There were a ton of options to choose from though and it did take some thought.
The site is easy to navigate and I think when I have the next communion to go to, this may make a great gift idea. Though if I had a friend who had a baby, I might give this a thought too. So many reasons and occasions available that would fit perfectly for this gift idea.
Well, I had to frame it before giving to my mom, and it adds character to it. I will say, I'm slightly sad some of it got cut off in the 8x10 frame, but it still looks nice.
Besides, mom will love it and that's all that matters!

I'm also posting early for two reasons, 1; work, and 2; a review posting tomorrow. Watch for that!

#Recipe Minestrone Soup

**Recipe and photo owned by Freda's Voice.

Minestrone soup is one of my favorite soups that my mother-in-law makes, and since moving out of her home and into our own again, I need to figure out what went inside hers so I can make it myself. I'm happy to say I did get it, and the hubster says it is just like hers! That's a compliment!! So here is my rendition of my mother-in-law's soup.

1 cup Ditali pasta shells 1/2 large onion, diced 2 tbsp olive oil 1 large garlic clove, minced 2 on-the-vine tomatoes, diced 1 zucchini, diced 3 organic carrots from bunch, diced 2 celery stalks, diced 1/4 head of cabbage, sliced and diced 1 can Cannellini beans, rinsed (white kidney beans) 2 cartons of vegetable stock 1 sprig of thyme 3/4 tbsp salt 1 tsp pepper 2 bay leaves
