Review:
Great teachings for parents!
So many wonderful morals, value and core beliefs are taught from birth, so they are instilled in our children to create happier and healthier kids. We teach our kids right from wrong, right from the earliest moments of their lives. So why not humility, love, empathy, compassion? They are morals we want our kids to have but sometimes start too late at teaching them or enforcing them.
The one thing I have really taken from the book, with my oldest about to turn 18, is I am doing something right. From the teachings in the book, you learn sticking to your guns is a huge part of making sure your children learn. It has been something I had issues with initially, those cute faces got to me every time, but it has stopped and I learned to stick to my guns. Since that time, my kids are not so quick to lip off or behave in an un-approving manner. They know I will not step down from decision, and have taught them there is good and bad consequences to every choice. It helps them see the bigger picture in the end.
So I think not only new parents, but parents of older children can benefit from reading this book. Our kids don't come with manuals, but books like this one sure help get through some of those tougher moments, and with our morality in tact.

I read One Minute Manager years ago, but I like the sound of Lead Like Jesus. I want to learn more about this.
