Review:
If you have ever had to take care of a loved one, you will know how hard it is, but also how self-rewarding it can be.
Before my own dad died, he needed care, and a home was not going to happen. That's where I came in as well as his girlfriend. She went and woke him up each morning and made sure he had breakfast and his medicine, then she went to work. I would go there in the late morning, visit, then make his lunch. Also making sure he took his insulin. Then I would engage him in more conversation and at times on his good days, get him to go for a small walk. Then I would go home and make supper for my family, and shortly after his girlfriend would arrive after work and they had supper together and get more insulin. She would stay until bedtime, or stay on weekends, or even take him to her house for the night. This became routine, and I was good with it. As I said, sometimes it was tough, like when dad had a bad day, but the rewarding part was the time I got to spend with him. The talks. I learned a lot in those talks in that time.
This book was filled with stories like mine, and while reading I really did connect with each one, even if the situation was different. It's the "care" that is universal.
Truly inspiring to know how many people would go that extra mile for the ones they love.

  1. I love the Chicken Soup books but have never read this, and it's the one I really need. I've been a caregiver to my mom and dad, my husbands grandmother, plus I've been my husbands sole caregiver for 25 years.

Thanks for the review! I'll have to get a copy of this!

REVIEW:
I sorta hated the beginning.
Starts outs so dark that you can't really make anything out. Hard to know what's going on if you can't see.
It doesn't take long to get light though.
Thankfully.
Man, does the story ever pick up after that. I don't remember much about the original but this one is intense. Right to the very last second too.
Sydney is badass and shows it throughout. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone thought you were o…

REVIEW: I loved the whole series, but especially loved this season as it wrapped it all up.  There were a couple of moments that were so incredibly tragic, but also a couple moments where the most tragic things couldn't have happened to better people. Take Sussy for example. God, how I hated that woman through the whole show and couldn't wait for her to get what was coming to her. Did she get it here? You have to watch and see! This is the season where you will sit on the edge of your seat, waiting to see who will win the kingdom. Does your favorite character prevail above the others? MIne d…

REVIEW: Boyfriend overload!!
The Rock, Jason Stathom and Ryan Reynolds in one film. Oh, my!
It was a great story, had tons of action and kick-ass moments. It was comical at times too. Everything I hoped for in this movie was there.
Just make sure you keep watching after the credits. It doesn't end when you think it does.
Watched with the hubby and he is a big fan. His exact words were, 'it was awesome'.
