Dress Like Your Favorite Book Characters

It definitely is fun to read fantastic books that pull you in, which make you yearn to read more and more about your favorite characters and their adventures. Sometimes a book series is so great you never want it to end and you may find yourself desiring to look like your favorite character in the book as well! Take Bella from Twilight, for example. Since Breaking Dawn Part 2 just came out it’s even more fun replicating Bella’s style, or any book character you love for that matter. You’ll be happy to learn that it really isn’t that hard to do.

If you want to dress like a favorite book character for a day, make it happen! Use clothing from your own wardrobe and if you’d like to buy a few additional accessories to make your book character look come alive find Toms coupon codes and other discount codes so you can invest in a casual and cute pair of shoes, like Elena from The Vampire Diaries might wear when she’s not busy defending herself from vampire hunters. Pretty soon you’ll have the perfect selection of outfits so that you can dress like your favorite book characters any day of the week.

Bella from Twilight often dresses very casual, but she’s very lovely in a subtle sort of way. Since she lives in a colder climate called Forks you’ll often read about her wearing jeans and a long sleeve plaid tee-shirt with a pleather jacket. She loves to layer and as the series progresses she also dresses up from time to time, especially when she wants to impress Edward. Replicate Bella’s style by wearing a pretty silk dress that’s simple and elegant without being too girly. Bella may also use a few sparkly hair clips when she doesn’t want her hair worn down because her hair is mostly worn down in the book and also during the films.

Have you read The Hunger Games trilogy? If you have then you might want to dress like Katniss! Since Katniss lives during a time where the going is tough, she relies on her family and the military look to get her through (so she can hunt without standing out that much in the forest as well). Most of her clothing comes in earth tones that blend in with the earth, like beige, green, and brown. If you want to dress like Katniss find a leather jacket that’s both durable and trendy. Katniss always wears her father’s leather jacket and it never goes out of style. She also loves her riding boots for when she’s out in the forest hunting with Gale. You’ll also see her wearing skinny jeans that are described in the book and seen on the big screen – she wears them so that they’re easy to tuck into her riding books and plus they keep her warm when she’s hunting! Oh, and don’t forget about her hairstyle – she loves wearing her trademark Katniss braid!

Now that you have learned about a couple of major book character’s looks, it’s time to create your own book character statement! If either of these book characters does not support your style, perhaps when you read a new series their style will be more for you – then you won’t have to completely change your style, unless you want to that is. It can be fun playing another character for a day!

7th Blogoversary! (#Giveaway)

Back in 2009, I decided to start this blog for book reviews. I had my other blog for photography, but didn't want to mix anything with it. So Freda's Voice was born.

I deleted the first post I ever wrote. It was just a bunch of blathering on about starting the blog. Much like the first paragraph here.

So let's get to the good stuff.
You know I can only celebrate how far Freda's Voice has come by giving back to you, the readers. Without you, this would be for me and me alone, and what would be the point in that?!

There will be one US and one Canadian winner. They can each choose a book from Amazon valued at $10 or less.

Easy enough, right?!
