#38: Night Sky - Jolene Perry

(If graphic doesn't load, refresh page)

After losing Sarah, the friend he’s loved, to some other guy, Jameson meets Sky. Her Native American roots, fluid movements, and need for brutal honesty become addictive fast. This is good. Jameson needs distraction – his dad leaves for another woman, his mom’s walking around like a zombie, and Sarah’s new boyfriend can’t keep his hands off of her.
As he spends time with Sky and learns about her village, her totems, and her friends with drums - she's way more than distraction. Jameson's falling for her fast.
But Sky’s need for honesty somehow doesn’t extend to her life story – and Jameson just may need more than his new girl to keep him distracted from the disaster of his senior year.

#37: Sarai - Jill Eileen Smith

(If graphic doesn't load, refresh page)

Sarai, the last child of her aged father, is beautiful, spoiled, and used to getting her own way. Even as a young girl, she is aware of the way men look at her, including her half brother Abram. When Abram finally requests Sarai's hand, she asks one thing--that he promise never to take another wife as long as she lives. Even her father thinks the demand is restrictive and agrees to the union only if Sarai makes a promise in return--to give Abram a son and heir. Certain she can easily do that, Sarai agrees.
But as the years stretch on and Sarai's womb remains empty, she becomes desperate to fulfill her end of the bargain--lest Abram decide that he will not fulfill his. To what lengths will Sarai go in her quest to bear a son? And how long will Abram's patience last?
Jill Eileen Smith thrilled readers with The Wives of King David series. Now she brings to life the strong and celebrated wives of the patriarchs, beginni…

So Jacqueline, please tell us about, Thoughtless.
THOUGHTLESS is a YA supernatural thriller about a mind-reader named Bridget.  During a high school football game, Bridget accidentally stumbles upon a dead body in the janitor’s closet.  There’s a killer out there.  And worse, the killer knows Bridget’s secret.  The one time she actually embraces her talent, it’s useless.  Bridget can’t figure out who’s blackmailing her, who killed Stacey, and why she can’t hear her boyfriend’s thoughts!

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do. The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too. I buried her. I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.
Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

At first Anna is tempted to escape, but she soon finds that the sisterhood's teachings and healing abilities, wrapped in an ancient philosophy they call "The Way," have unleashed an unexpected power within her.

Giveaway: EBook: Eve Eden VS The Zombie Horde - Suz Korb

Kidnapped by a vampire, epically farted on by a pug and dragged through the pits of Hell. Welcome to Eve Eden’s world in the small and strange town of Twin Forest.
Eve has goals. She has dreams and ambitions that don’t involve staying in this weird, podunk town. When supernatural forces collide, dropping her into the heart of England, she’s not pleased. When Eve said she wanted to get the heck out of dodge, she didn’t mean getting transported into a castle dungeon.
A hellish incident turns Eve’s hair white. She can’t explain a slight attraction to a vampire who’s been sent to kill her. Can life get any worse? Apparently it can, because just around the corner at Twin Forest’s cemetery--waits the zombie horde.

Pockets of ‘should have been’s and ‘might have happened’s. Time that was allotted but never spent. In this realm we find the stories that could have been true.
Such as the story of Kiala, whose aunt and caretaker disappears one day, leaving her as the sole Huntress to battle the giant octopi to feed her village. Or the revealing tale of Goki Feng Ho: the ancient Chinese art of decoding the meaning of car license plates. Howdy readers!
Have I got a treat for you. Author, Tara McTiernan is here to talk about her new contemporary fiction book, Barefoot Girls, and answer a few questions for us. She has also kindly offered up an ecopy of her book to a lucky reader. See the giveaway after the interview.

So Tara, please tell us about your book.

First of all, thank you for interviewing me on your blog, Freda! I’m excited to be able to reach out to your readers and let them know about my new women’s contemporary fiction novel, Barefoot Girls. The book is currently available in ebook only; the print version will be released this late spring/summer.
Official Product Description: When her hometown newspaper reviews Hannah O’Brien’s newly released novel, the nature of her book is called into question when the reviewer suggests it is a memoir depicting her neglectful alcoholic mother – Keeley O’Brien Cohen, the most beloved of the Barefoot Girls - a little too accurately for fiction, citing rumors rather than sources…

Funny Irish T-Shirts

Funny Irish T-shirts is a website solely based on providing fun t-shirts for Irish themed customers. They have heritage t-shirts, funny sayings, and t-shirts that are aimed at St. Patrick's Day.

My Opinion:

I received a funny sayings t-shirt, that I can wear around St. Paddy's day.
It says, "Stop Staring at my Leprechauns".
I find that hilarious! Yes, I have an odd sense of humor. The shirt fits perfectly, for women who wear a medium, this size small in men's fits exactly the same.
The only criticism I have, is on a shirt with a saying like this, the logo needs to be down a little more. Thankfully I have smaller breasts, because if they were bigger, the leprechauns would be above my boobs. That would be hard for others to read and make the joke not work as well. So lower the graphic.
Other than that, it feels nice against my skin, and washed good. No rips or tears after a washing, so it's decent quality in my opinion.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
