#28: A Billion Reasons Why - Kristin Billerbeck

Synopsis & Book Info:
He’s a handsome billionaire. She’s not impressed.
Katie McKenna has never loved any man but one: billionaire Luc DeForges. He was her first love. But there are a billion reasons why she's engaged instead to Dexter Hastings, a solid and stable man who wants the same things she does: marriage and a family but all of the things that she wants without the deep-seeded pain and fear of being abandoned that Luc brings.
Dexter and she have worked an arrangement that's akin to faith without action, love without deeds -- a dead faith. Going home to New Orleans to sing for her childhood friend's wedding, Katie must search her heart to find out if any of her reasons for being with Dexter are stronger than love. Only when Katie steps fully into faith and jumps off the cliff of life into the arms of Luc does she understand the fullness of God's grace.

My Opinion:
Don't you think the girl on the front of the cover looks familiar? Yeah, me too.
This was a fabulous romantic comedy, and one I seriously hope they make into a movie! It was exactly what I look for in that genre, and it had just the right amount of each element.
I really liked Katie too, but I thought she took too long to wake up. I'm so glad she did though.
A good solid read, that actually flies by really fast.

4.5/5

Recommend? Yes, and make it a movie too!

  2. Great review!

The cover girl reminds me of a younger Bridget Moynahan

  3. They always take too long to figure out they're meant to be together, but I enjoy romances anyway.

I'd be impressed by a handsome billionaire by the way, especially if he's a good guy to boot.

  4. The girl looks like Ashley Judd to me.
I have this one in my ereader right now! Looking forward to reading it.

7th Blogoversary! (#Giveaway)

Back in 2009, I decided to start this blog for book reviews. I had my other blog for photography, but didn't want to mix anything with it. So Freda's Voice was born.

I deleted the first post I ever wrote. It was just a bunch of blathering on about starting the blog. Much like the first paragraph here.

So let's get to the good stuff.
You know I can only celebrate how far Freda's Voice has come by giving back to you, the readers. Without you, this would be for me and me alone, and what would be the point in that?!

There will be one US and one Canadian winner. They can each choose a book from Amazon valued at $10 or less.

Easy enough, right?!
