Synopsis & Book Info:
Play a barbarian warrior in a videogame, read Napoleon's social networking site profile, read a comic strip about the Black Death or the blog of Louis XVI's closest confidant. What was old is new again with this irreverent take on world history, originally published in hardcover as Take Me Back . From Mesopotamia to Mao, the Incas to Iraq, the Spartans to the Space Shuttle, this amazing book squeezes together 3,500 years of bloody battles, glorious empires, revolting revolutions, monstrous monarchs into one visually arresting exploration of the people and events that shaped history.

My Opinion:
I really felt this book was geared to one audience. Kids ages 8-12.
That was the good and bad about it.
I wasn't appreciative of the layout or childish illustrations, I like my history more straightforward, but for kids of that target range, it would be worth reading. The fun illustrations lure them in, and make it easily understandable.
Great for home reading, but again not something I would recommend for schools, due to the laid back nature in the illustrations.
3.5/5
Recommend? For Kids Ages 8-12
~I received a copy from DK Canada. I was not compensated for my opinion.~
Maybe a book to get kids interested in history so they will want to know more.
