Stem" cells offer much hope for medical advancement because of their ability to grow into almost any kind of cell. As a premed student i am for it but there is more to it than that. Ethics come in between so i m 50 50% on it.

There are no ethical issues with umbilical cord blood stem cells. the Church approves it. The cells come from the baby's blood that is left in the umbilical cord at birth and is discarded after delivery along with the placenta. Read more here: http://www.mazecordblood.com/stem-cell-controversy.htm
