My Teaser:

In frustration, she reverted to her old style and threw a massive haymaker at him. He could have seen it coming from space.

ReplyDeleteno way!!!! i had no idea she had a novel out!! thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteHere is my teaser from Lipstick in Afghanistan by Roberta Gately (Page 1):
ReplyDelete"Do you hear it?" The voice was almost a whisper.
Elsa held her breath, and then she heard it too, a faint rustling of footsteps over twigs and leaves. Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed several shadowy figures darting through the trees, and when she turned, she saw a glint of sunlight reflecting off the barrel of an assault rifle.
There was no denying it—the Taliban had found them.
Oh, Jesus! she thought. We'll never escape.
Elsa knew the Taliban's ruthless hatred; the death and destruction they wrought was undeniable.
Seized by a sickening wave of fear, she wanted to cry or throw up, but there was no time. She tried to catch Parween's eye, but her friend was looking back, intent on finding the source of the sound.
"Run!" someone shouted, and suddenly, the chase was on.
That's funny!

ReplyDeleteI've never watched Jersey Shore - I'm more of the Real Housewives of New Jersey type.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm from Kentucky, I don't think
'haymaker' means the same thing. ;)
LOL You go girl!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I can just see it.
ReplyDeleteLOL , what a cover and that teaser, not a book I would normally read but might have to try it.
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser Tuesday
Funny teaser (and love that hair-do on the cover)!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TT: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2010/12/teaser-tuesdays_21.html
That's funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser and cover!
ReplyDeleteInteresting . . . what's a haymaker?
ReplyDeleteGreat TT! I could never get into the show though.
ReplyDeleteAnd for those asking, a haymaker is a type of wild punch where you basically just throw as force as you can into it. The quote makes it seem like they are throwing something physically at the person instead of just their fist.
Mine's up Silent Night
Not a fan, but what the heck is a haymaker? Thanks for stopping by
ReplyDeleteI don't know what a haymaker is either.
ReplyDeleteNot a book I would pick up. I'll be interested to see how you like it.
That is funny. I wonder what he did that caused her to try and hit him? The cover is great.
ReplyDelete:)
