Synopsis:
A married woman realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce, she takes off on a round-the-world journey to "find herself".

My Opinion:
After I read the book, I knew I had to see the movie.
While watching the movie, I was instantly reminded of how many feelings the book brought out in me. The movie was bringing those same feelings out.
There were times when I laughed, was excited for her character, and even somber when it was over.
I really enjoyed the film adaption to this book. I feel the filmmaker had a clear vision of the book and really brought Elizabeth Gilbert's words to life.
A fantastic movie, that my hubby watched, so I really recommend this to everyone. Preferably after you read the novel.

    I have seen to many different thoughts on the book but I definitely want to see the movie and Julia is a fav actress of mine.

    I couldn't wait to see the movie, and did not finish the book first, and I don't really understand why but I felt the movie failed on so many levels...it was a girl's outing, and I don't think going with hubby would have made it better...I am a huge fan of Julia too, and maybe it was just a bad time to see it.....emotions can have an effect on these things....but I am not alone from those that I have talked to, and it did drop off fast around these parts.....I really wanted to say good things about this movie too....in fact I pushed so many people to go....over anticipation perhaps!

    i liked the book too, especially the stint in italy part. really makes me want to travel. like you i wanted to watch this movie when it came out. but upon hearing the reviews i decided to wait for the dvd.
