Synopsis:
Os veritatis.
The Moment of Truth.
A stone sculpture of the face of the River God, in front of a Roman Temple (now a church), inspiring people to speak the truth.
According to legend, when people inserted a hand in the Mouth, they would get bitten if they were lying. It is a tourist attraction, made very famous by the 1953 Movie, Roman Holiday, starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.
Roman Wisdom for a Better Life may be considered a "Mouth of Truth", because it expresses the true value of life, on account of the moral principles, wise concepts, useful instructions and life-improving precepts, contained in its over 1000 selected Latin maxims, written, in ancient Rome, about 2000 years ago.
The main purposes and scopes which the Author intends to attain with this book, are to inspire and motivate the readers to use such maxims as an instrument and an opportunity to improve the quality of certain aspects of their life.

My Opinion:
This is a book filled with common sense, at least that is what I took from it. There are many common sayings in the book, that not only make sense, but I assume most people agree with.
I didn't learn anything new from this book, but it was still nice to refresh my mind with these quotes from Cicero, Socrates and such.
A great table top book, or a great book for Sunday School discussions.
