My Opinion:
I'm fascinated by the 2012 phenomenon, so when I saw this book I had to read it. I had no idea whether it would give better insight into the Mayan calendar, but I was hopeful.
Unfortunately this book just didn't do it for me.
I was finding I had to push myself pretty hard to even finish it. The writing is not what I like, at times you had no idea who was part of the conversation. It was pretty scattered in the way of keeping my interest. The worst thing for me, is I have no better understanding or even interest in the Mayan calendar now. This story which I believe is purely fictional just killed it for me.
Sorry folks, but I wouldn't go looking for an adventure here.
The only thing I really liked was at the beginning of each chapter was a Mayan symbol and description of what it meant. That was neat and will stick in my mind.

ReplyDeleteGood to know- I won't read this one ;) I've watched the movie 2012, which was so so. Definitely not as good as I thought it would be.
