Synopsis:
Studying math is often a source of great anxiety for children and also proves troublesome for parents helping with their homework. Using uniquely accessible illustrated stress-free approach, Help Your Kids with Math looks at every aspect of math, from simple sums to simultaneous equations, and explains each facet in easily understandable language so that adults and kids can master the subject together. Tricky concepts are explored and examined step-by-step, so that even the most math-phobic individual will be able to approach and solve complex problems with confidence.

My Opinion:
I was the worst kid in school for Math. It was not my subject, an I hated every thing about it, I even failed it in Grade 9 and had to do it again. I just couldn't get things like Algebra.
My thinking starting this book was, if it can teach me, it can teach anyone.
The best thing is, I learned.
Algebra is touched on in this book, and in the manner in what given, I was able to understand it for the first time in my life. DK simplified it enough for my brain to absorb it.
That was something!
So I definitely think this is a worthy book, in any home. We all have Math subjects at some point in our life, and this can help not only your kids but the struggling parent as well. Sometimes our math needs brushing up, or it can show us an easier way to help our children.
Also would be a terrific asset in schools, for those kids who need help, and they're out there!

Oh, I may have to look into this one. Math's never been my strong point and it's probably my daughter's toughest subject too. She does well, but it takes a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed math but I have a couple of friends who could probably use this book.
