WA #317 Merry Meetings

For more: http://weekendassignment.blogspot.com

This week is about meeting people. In keeping with my love for poetry, I wrote this especially for this meme. It says exactly what I think of the new age of technology, though I am guilty of living this way too. I guess this is my wish for us all, more one on one time with the ones we love.

Merry Meetings

Writing with a pen is a lost art
Email is the way of today
Picking up the phone is a good start
Not a cell call as you run away
Have coffee with a good friend
Instead of Skyping while online
You'll find them there till the bitter end
Instead of IM'ing on a holiday dateline
Heed this as I say to you
Socialize face to face
Make moments last, feel real, be true
Bring back the human race.

  1. I see your point, but I have to admit to loving e-mail and texting. I am not a face to face person in general and hate talking on the phone. I send cards, but never letters.

  2. Hi Freda :)

Great take on the assignment this week! There really isn't anything that can replace face to face interaction. And I love writing letters too!

  3. Isn't Skyping face to face? When I skype with my sister it's like her living room and mine are face to face. Last time we skyped we just went on with what we were doing, talking through it for ages. It felt like face to face, in some strange way. But you're right, email, texting, messaging, all that's great, but it shouldn't replace meeting a friend over coffee. It's a completely different experience.

  4. Nice. Still, I think there's room for both.

REVIEW: It was weird starting off with a He-Man lookalike, Thunder the Barabarian), until I realized a character from the film was watching the cartoon in the airplane. Still, it was kind of cool to reminice about two cartoons from my childhood. So many great actors bring the film to life! What a fun story it was too! Although
