My Opinion:
Bravo, Marcia!
It takes a lot of courage to be able to tell such a sensitive story. I know, I share one with her. I have to admit, many times while reading her story, my own fears re-surfaced.
I think domestic violence is a subject that still does not get the attention it deserves. We need to help the women who are abused, because in actuality, the system doesn't. So, turning a blind eye, as they say, is not helping anyone. Too often that is exactly what people do.
I'm so glad I read this story. I was heartbroken to learn of her story, but also empowered and inspired by her need to break free and live.
Very well done for a debut novel!
