Author Guest Post:
Where did this story of sex addiction come from, and how was she able to write the book to engage the public on this topic, that is still not discussed outwardly.

Back in 2002, it was reported that Eric Benet attended sex addiction counseling after his break up with Halle Berry. I remember hearing the term sexaholic and knew I wanted to explore a fictional sexaholic experience from a female perspective. It wasn’t discussed that often back then, but we do hear a lot about sex addicts in the headlines today. The only thing is there hasn’t been much talk about women and sex addiction.
When I signed my PYNK contract in 2006, I decided it was time to write SEXAHOLICS, and I felt that writing it as an erotica title would be the best way to explore the minds and bodies of these addicted women.
As a female, I felt the best way to approach the topic, which I knew so little about, was to attend a couple of sex rehab meetings myself. And so I did. There were ten men in the group and one woman, other than me. Still I was grateful for that woman because she was the main one I wanted to approach and talk to. As I mention in the book, SEXAHOLICS, women are rarely labeled sexaholics. If we’re sex drunks, we’re often seen as a gift to men. A woman who lusts and who’s ready to have sex at the drop of a hat is not viewed as broken most times, whereas a man who cheats on his wife and gets caught with many women is seen as needing to be fixed.
Being that most of my readers are women, I wrote about four very distinct female personalities. One is a voyeur, another is bisexual, the third woman just can’t seem to say no, and the final women is a love cripple who is addicted to both sex and alcohol. It wanted these women to be mothers, coworkers, teachers, daughters, fiancĂ©s, business owners, church going women, etc., just like the women we see every day, only I wanted to take the reader inside of the life and mind of lady addicts.
In addition to the sexaholics meetings, I did a lot of online research on the Sexaholics Anonymous site (http://www.sa.org), as well as other sites, and I read a book called False Intimacy: Understanding the Struggle of Sexual Addiction. I wanted to explore what it would be like to take lust to such an extreme that people would risks their jobs, family, friends, health, and lives, just for the experience of a sexual act, in spite of the consequences. It was important to get raw and real, and to allow these women to act out, in spite of what I might think about their situations, or in spite of what I might do if it were me. I wanted them to be broken. I wanted them to be deep into the trenches of addiction. I knew I couldn’t allow myself to sugarcoat it.
It’s funny how the word sex makes us uncomfortable, and causes us to think sin and shame and embarrassment. But there are people in this world who find it difficult to say no – no to drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, shopping, etc., as well as sex. Some people are fighting for their lives trying to discover what’s behind their addictive actions. I wanted to get the attention of your average person who could be a fly on the wall and see what these women have to deal with, sometimes taking the reader into the bedroom, sometimes the back seat, and sometimes between their legs.
I believe our thoughts and decisions about sex say a lot about us. It is my hope that the decisions of Miki, Teela Raye, Valencia, and Brandi say a lot about them to the point where the readers want to witness their journeys, and I tells the tale of the many people who constantly struggle with sex addiction, fighting for sobriety. It’s not pretty for any addict.
No, the topic of sex addiction is not discussed outwardly, but it should be. One day we might find that it is our own brother, mother, or child fighting for recovery. And maybe then, the words sin, shame, and embarrassment will be replaced by words like sobriety, peace of mind, and love.

My Opinion:
This was, by far, one of the dirtiest books I have ever read! That's a good thing though when reading erotica. You want details, and the author doesn't disappoint with this flesh feast of a novel.
Hardcore action, and sexaholics meetings, make for more hardcore action!
The only downfall to this book, was the ending. I didn't care for how the story ended, and wish the author had told a bit more about each character, instead of focusing on one. It was broken down through the whole book, it should have stayed that way on the end.
With that said, I would still recommend this to every woman I know.
