Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about books on your top book lists…
This past week, Borders re-released it’s 100 Favourite Books of All Times. Do you vote in these kinds of polls when they arise? Do you look through the list, or seek out books featured?

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your opinion in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks.
I personally never vote in these kinds of polls. I think it would make me somewhat bias to chose one over the other. When it comes to books, I'd rather not do that. I am open to reading anything, and would read the phone book if there was nothing else. I am a person to always express my honest opinion, but hate to narrow things down to just one. Makes for a bad voter.
As for my favorite books, I'll just tell you about some of my favorite books and authors.
I adore reading John Steinbeck novels. My intention is to own them all. Even if I never read them again, which I highly doubt. He wrote some wonderful stories, endless even. I also enjoy any bios. Doesn't matter who they are, known or unknown, it's just the real story. Something in that appeals to me. Also as a poet, I absolutely love anything Maya Angelou. Not only it is beauty in literature, but it is empowering for women. I also rather enjoy a Stephen King novel. Scare the pants right off ya!!! I dig that! Lastly, I loved the fantasy genre for a bit in Tracy Hickman, Margaret Weiss, and Terry Pratchett. There's even a new book on the shelf I was recently eying.
That is me... in a nutshell.
I will check those lists out, but do not choose what I read because of them! I have not read a Stephen King novel in years, too much of a chicken!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy looking at the various lists and seeing how many I've read. They also inevitably remind me of some that I've always wanted to read but haven't gotten around to yet.
ReplyDeleteI think this Border's list is a questionable sort of list, not so much the real 'best' and the most popular for quite a few.
